Brian Taylor - Personal Page

I am a teacher at Little Flower Academy (LFA). I currently teach math and I used to teach information technology. Check out my page of links for Math teachers and all those interested in mathematics.

At LFA I coach the Senior B Field Hockey team and I am a field hockey umpire with a Provincial B rating. I also sponsor the LFA-VC "Fighting Angels" Ultimate team.

I really enjoy doing the Grouse Grind. In the winter I love skiing whenever I can. Take a look at the snow report for Whistler-Blackcomb.

I enjoy cooking when I have time. I have compiled a few of my favourite recipes for your enjoyment. I'm a big fan of Thai food and also of southern style barbecue. However, living in Vancouver I've only had the chance to visit a few barbecue restaurants.

I'm a sports fan and I enjoy listening to Yankees games on the internet while I work on the computer. I also like to follow the University of Illinois teams. Take a look at how their football and basketball teams are doing.

I'm interested in the controversy surrounding the teaching of Intelligent Design in schools. Here is an excellent essay on the topic.

I'm also interested in health and wellness. I highly recommend reading "Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes. Here is a brief excerpt from the epilogue. Here is an excerpt on longevity from a book by Desmond Morris. Mental health is, of course, just as important as physical health. Make sure you are not guilty of any cognitive distortions. And if you are already familiar with cognitive therapy or rational emotive behavior therapy then you might find this form helpful.
