The Grouse Grind - Final Thoughts

This is Guest Services at the bottom of Grouse Mountain. You can purchase a pass here, or a Summit Seeker card. For a small fee you can check your bag at the bottom and pick it up at the top. It's nice to change into dry clothes at the top and you won't have to haul an extra ten pounds on the Grind!
Here's Guest Services at the top. If you've checked your bag pick it up here. You can also purchase your $10 download ticket here to use on the gondola.
Here's the TV where your time will appear if you used a Summit Seeker card.
Grab a drink or a snack. You earned it! There is a bigger cafeteria around the corner and two full-service restaurants one floor up.
The lodge is very airy and has some nice carvings.
A gigantic candle chandelier hanging above a seating area in front of a huge fireplace.
This is a pleasant place to hang out.
An artist's impresion of the Grind.
Some nice antique snowshoes and skis adorn the walls.
The cafeteria dining area.
The deck outside the cafeteria has the best view in all of Vancouver.
Capilano Reservoir in the foreground with West Vancouver and Vancouver harbour beyond.
Point Grey and Vancouver Island in the distance.
Look to your right for a great view of the Lions.
For some people the Grind isn't enough of a workout --they wear extra weights on their legs or wrists!
As I mentioned earlier, hiking boots are good but you might find them a bit heavy. I think trail runners are the best footwear, but regular running shoes are fine, too. Avoid sandals -- it's too easy to get small stones under your feet. Sandals also tend to have much more flexible soles, and allow for the possibility of stubbing your toes.
The plaza area -- this is turned into a skating rink in the winter.
The Peak. There is still snow, but later in the summer you can hike to the top for a great panoramic view.
There are a number of hiking trails into the back country. Make sure you are prepared before heading off.
The gondola ride down takes only 6 minutes!
Another deck from which to enjoy the view while eating or drinking.
The gondola gets pretty crowded.
As you go down the gondola, most people are looking at the city view, but if you look to your right you'll get an outstanding view of the Lions.
You'll also be able to see all of Capilano Reservoir.
There are some nice rocky outcroppings to see.
